Short version: Bookplate does not collect your personal data. The app has no accounts, no server of ours that stores what you read, and the personalization happens entirely on your device.
Everything you enter to personalize a book — your name, any nickname, eye colour, hair, build, and skin tone, and the same details for a second lead — is stored only on your device. It is used to render the text you read. It is never transmitted to us, and we have no way to retrieve it.
Your reading progress, which books you have opened, and your app settings are likewise stored on the device only.
You may choose to turn on anonymous, aggregate analytics that tell us which kinds of story are being finished, so we know what to publish next. It is off unless you switch it on, it never includes your name or anything you typed, and it is not tied to an identity. You can turn it off again at any time in the app's settings.
Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, not by us. We never see your payment details. Apple and Google provide us only with the anonymous receipt information needed to confirm that a purchase or subscription is valid. Their handling of your payment data is governed by their own privacy policies.
Bookplate is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
If this policy changes in a way that affects what leaves your device, we will say so plainly here and in the app before the change takes effect.
